ZENDIUM IS CLINCALLY PROVEN TO IMPROVE GUM HEALTH, NATURALLY

Why use a natural approach to prevent gum problems?

Good oral hygiene habits are essential for prevention of caries and gum problems, yet patients can struggle to consistently brush properly. Many toothpastes contain agents to help improve gum health, such as stannous fluoride, zinc or chlorhexidine. Inspired by how the mouth protects itself naturally, Zendium toothpaste contains enzymes and proteins reflecting some of those found in saliva.

In 2017, Adams et al. showed that Zendium is clinically proven to balance the oral microbiome.* Two recent and complementary studies now provide important evidence to demonstrate the clinical benefits of brushing with Zendium: improved gum health.

Zendium is clinically proven to improve gum health

In a pivotal clinical study carried out by the University of Bristol in the UK, researchers measured the bleeding index, inflammation index and plaque index from 229 participants brushing twice a day with Zendium or a regular fluoride toothpaste without enzymes and proteins control. After 13 weeks, Zendium was superior to the control toothpaste across all three gum health indices.

Taking these findings further, a notable real-world study at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, showed for the first time that long-term users of Zendium (those who used Zendium for at least 12 months) had significantly better gum health than people who used a fluoride toothpaste with no antibacterial active ingredients. This was irrespective of brushing or smoking habits.

Both studies were published in the Journal of Dentistry Special Supplement 2019.

Zendium: boosting the mouth’s natural defences for improved gum health

These studies demonstrate that gum health can be improved by using a toothpaste that contains natural enzymes and proteins usually found in saliva to boost the mouth’s natural defences. Approaches to oral hygiene that improve gum health naturally by balancing the oral microbiome may therefore represent an exciting step forward in oral health.
